Australian stocks rise

On Tuesday, Australian stocks ascended after the close, as profits in the Metals & Mining, Resources as well as Materials sectors brought stocks up.

The S&P/ASX 200 earned 1.16%.

Technology One Ltd, Orocobre Ltd and A2 Milk Company Ltd turned to be the best performers. They climbed up respectively 11.13%, 9.87% and 7.11%.        

As for the worst benchmarks of the session, we should point out to Isentia Group Ltd, Ardent Leisure Group and News Corp B.  They dived respectively 3.89%, 1.93% and 1.87% respectively.

On the Australia Stock Exchange, growing shares managed to outperform dropping ones by 631 to 439, while 308 remained intact.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, gauging the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, sank 4.51%, hitting 12.397 - a fresh 1-month minimum.

The currency pair AUD/USD surged 0.39%, reaching 0.7398, while AUD/JPY added 0.39%, trading at 81.97.

The US Dollar Index, indicating the greenback’s value against other key currencies, edged down 0.01%, being worth 100.93.
