Japanese stocks edge up at close of trade

On Friday, Japanese stocks ascended after the close, as revenues in the Shipbuilding, Glass as well as Automobiles & Parts sectors brought stocks up.

The Nikkei 225 managed to earn 0.59%, thus hitting a fresh 6-months peak.

When talking about the best performers of the trading session on the Nikkei 225, we should mention Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd, SUMCO Corp. and Mitsumi Electric Co. They edged up respectively 5.36%, 4.87% and 4.79%.     

As for the worst performers, these were Konami Corp., Chiyoda Corp. and Astellas Pharma Inc. They sank 6.93%,3.28% and 3.06% respectively.        

On the Tokyo Stock Exchange, rising stocks outclassed dipping by 2093 to 888, while 348 didn’t change.

The Nikkei Volatility, traditionally assessing the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, dived 0.61%, trading at 19.51.

The currency pair USD/JPY ascended 0.50%, trading at 110.67, while EUR/JPY added 0.23%, being worth 117.27.

The US Dollar Index rose 0.31%, showing 101.31.
