Australian stocks fall at close of trade
On Friday, Australian stocks fell after the close, as losses in the Financials, Metals & Mining and Gold sectors brought shares down.
The S&P/ASX 200 dipped 0.86%, hitting a fresh 3-months minimum.
The best performers of the trading session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Orica Ltd, rising 8.21%, CYBG PLC, adding 7.09% and A2 Milk Company Ltd, soaring 5.51%.
As for the worst performers, here we should mention M Pharma Fp, Flight Centre Ltd and Genworth Fp. They dropped respectively 14.66%, 8.19% and 7.62%.
Dropping shares managed to outnumber soaring ones on the Australia Stock Exchange by 641 to 372, while 334 remained intact.
Shares in Orica Ltd went up to 52-week peaks, soaring 8.21% or 1.280 to 16.880.
The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, measuring the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, leapt 9.46%, being worth 20.707, thus demonstrating a fresh 3-months peak.
The currency pair AUD/USD fell 0.04%, trading at 0.7679, while AUD/JPY added 0.14%, trading at 79.22.
