Taiwan stocks head south at close
On Wednesday, Taiwan stocks traded lower after the close, as losses in the Iron & Steel and Oil as well as Gas & Electricity sectors brought shares down.
The Taiwan Weighted edged down 0.17%.
The best performers of the trading session on the Taiwan Weighted were represented by Taiwan Paiho, rising 9.87%, Aver, soaring 9.85% and Pao Lung gaining 9.68%.
As for the worst performers, these were Chuwa Wool with its 9.93% fall, Tainan Cayman with its 8.89% decline and Cvilux, losting 7.72%.
On the Taiwan Stock Exchange, descending shares outperformed surging ones by 399 to 313, while 135 remained intact.
Shares in Taiwan Paiho edged up to all time peaks, ascending 9.87%. Meanwhile, shares in Pao Lung grew to all time peaks, earning 9.68%.
November delivery crude futures rose 1.03%, hitting $49.19 a barrel.
The currency pair USD/TWD managed to soar 0.33%, trading at 31.447, while TWD/CNY grew 0.05%, being worth 0.2131.
The US Dollar Index tumbled 0.03%, hitting 96.07.
